Bismarck, ND – April 25, 2024 – Earlier today, the North Dakota Secretary of State approved New Economic Frontier to begin collecting signatures for a ballot measure petition to legalize adult-use cannabis responsibly in North Dakota.
This measure aims to legalize cannabis in North Dakota and brings significant benefits, such as creating jobs, generating revenue, and ensuring safe consumption through product regulation. Additionally, it will remove access barriers for those looking to benefit from the medicinal qualities of cannabis. Overall, it offers a comprehensive, responsible approach to cannabis legalization with wide-ranging positive impacts.
To qualify for the November ballot, 15,582 signatures must be gathered from eligible North Dakota voters by July 8th, 2024.
Gathering signatures for the ballot measure is crucial to ensure everyone’s voice is heard. Each signature collected shows support for legalizing adult-use cannabis in North Dakota and allows voters the opportunity to make their decision in November.
Steve Bakken, Burleigh County Commissioner and former mayor of Bismarck is the chair of the initiated measure’s sponsoring committee. He provided the following statement:
“We’re thrilled to be one step closer to making history in North Dakota. Now, as we start to gather signatures, we’ll really see how much our community recognizes the benefits of legalization. But let’s be clear—this isn’t just about legalizing cannabis; it’s about unlocking a future of new opportunities and growth for our great state.”
As the campaign gears up for the signature-gathering phase, New Economic Frontier is seeking passionate individuals to join the team as petition circulators.
